What Is Ginger Powder?

Ginger powder is extracted from the ginger root which is dried. It is a fine off-white or slightly brownish powder that has a strong aroma and a pungent flavor.

Culinary Use

Dry ginger powder is utilized as a spice in curries, gravies and marinades.   Famously known as the ”baker’s choice”, dry ginger powder is widely used to add flavor to gingerbread. Added along with turmeric, cinnamon and cloves, one can make ginger tea.  Used in marinades for tandoori starters. Used to flavor ginger cookies and candies.
